With the arrival of cooler weather and consistent snow events, “Winter Conditions” are now in effect and will include:

• Cart traffic will be restricted to Path Only from December 2 through the spring when the turf begins to actively grow. Excessive wear patters on turf that can not recuperate will lead to poor conditions in the spring.
• Mowing and irrigation of all turf surfaces has ceased as the plants are in the process of “hardening off” for winter. The greens have become shaggy but it is important to not initiate new growth from mowing at the expense of exhausting energy reserves required for winter hardiness.
• Greens will receive a heavy sand topdressing to protect the turf from harsh winter conditions.
• Each green will have two hole locations through the winter. Our staff will rotate pins based on wear.
• Tee Markers and bunker rakes have been removed from the golf course to be refurbished for the 2020 season.

• Tee Reshaping and Resizing on holes 8, 13, 14, and 15 and 17.
• Minor cart path repairs.

In addition to course improvement projects, the winter months offer great opportunities to catch up on continuing education, prepare for the upcoming season, and allows us to spend quality time with our families through the Holidays.
