Hello Ravenna Ladies,

For those of you who I have not met, my name is Seth, and I am super excited to be running all of the ladies golf events this season.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the kickoff party on May 1st. For the ladies who weren’t able to attend, I have summarized our open discussion below, and for everyone, I have included my actions as a result of these discussions.

Ladies Clinics (See Below)

“Happy Hour Clinic”
I will be hosting four clinics targeted at ladies who would enjoy group instruction in a laid back social setting. Suggested for ladies who have some previous golf knowledge.
Thursday Dates: 5/30, 6/27, 7/25, 8/22
Time: 5p-6p
Cost: $10 cash or $20 account charge per person covers the golf pro’s time. (Drink specials in bar)

“Beginner Series” 
I will be hosting a four-clinic series specifically targeting ladies with none, to very little golf knowledge. We will make this session very social and informative (see detailed schedule below).
Thursday Dates: 5/30, 6/27, 7/25, 8/22 (Sign up for as many as you can make. Agenda below)
Time: 4p-5p
Cost: $10 cash or $20 account charge per person covers the golf pro’s time.

Beginner Series Agenda:
5/30 – Introduction to Golf at Ravenna (Intro to policies, procedures and dress code, Foretees set-up/tutorial, arriving at the club, checking into golf shop, taking advantage of all amenities.)
6/27 – Setup Introduction (Grip, Stance, Aim), Equipment Overview (What clubs do I use? How far does it go?, etc)
7/25 – Short game introduction (putting, chipping, sand), full swing practice
8/22 – On Course Tutorial (Cart use, Pace of play, Score keeping, etc.)

Other Items…

Mix up ladies league formats – While the previously released Wednesday formats will remain the same, I will be making small adjustments to each week to keep things interesting, and maximize the fun.

16 Tee Box - Ladies expressed a desire to play from the umber tee box on hole #16 in order for the shot to play a bit more downhill. We will start experimenting with this option by moving the Sage tee markers up one level. This will be on a trial basis initially as we gather more data and feedback.

17 Tee Box – Ladies expressed that they would like the tee markers on #17 to be placed on the left tee box. Our plan is to have the left elevated tee box as the standard for tee placement. The only reason we used the other teeing ground was because of an irrigation issue that needed to be fixed. So unless maintenance needs to do work on that tee box, the sage tee will be there.

Drop on 17 – Due to the topography of the hole, this drop area must remain in its location. Remember you always have the option to re-tee.

Junior golfer tournament policy – As the club continues to grow, we are seeing more and more children participating in events. Here is our policy on juniors participating in any men’s or women’s event. Any junior under the age of 18 may compete in GROSS COMPETIONS ONLY.
