Golf Update: April 22

Hello Ravenna Club Members,

The state of Colorado will begin Phase 1 of relaxed restrictions for business. The Club will still operate with minimal services available. The month of May we ask for the Membership’s help in continuing with the current protocols (listed below) that are in place. We will continue minimal service to the Membership until we have clear understanding of the Governor’s plan and Ravenna will modify operations accordingly.

We appreciate the generosity of the Members during these hard times. Thank you to Bill Meyers and Brenda Rivers who made a generous donation to the Golf and F&B staff, Ellen Steiner for baking peanut butter cookies and Dr. Dunbar for providing two more boxes of surgical masks for the safety of the employees.

The Next Week…
The weather forecast for the next week is promising with warm temperatures in the 70’s and on some days a chance of precipitation. Our plan is to conduct Ladies Opening Day on Friday, May 8th and Men’s Opening Day on Saturday, May 9th. If you have not already registered, please log on and sign up on Foretees. If you need a partner sign up as a single and we will find another Member to pair with you. Depending on phase one guidelines, the Club will have to make adjustments to the F&B offerings and how we serve the membership.

Golf Guidelines
In order to limit the exposure for our members and staff the club has implemented the following guidelines for golf.

1. When you come out to the club we ask everyone to please practice the social distancing with your fellow members, guests and staff that is recommended by the John Hopkins University.

2. If you feel sick, under the weather, or just a little off please stay home. If Management feels you are putting others at risk you will be denied access and asked to leave.

3. Raphael Grille- If we have 30 or more members scheduled on the tee sheet, the Club will have the Raphael Grille open for service. When we have 30 or more players scheduled to play, the hours of operation for the Raphael grill will be open one hour thirty minutes after the first tee time until 5:00pm. Please call in your orders from the 9th tee box and after the 14th green so the staff can have your order ready for your when you arrive at the grille and we don’t have a congregation of people at the window.

4. The Club will not offer any valet service at the Bag Drop. Members and Guests will be required to load and unload their golf clubs from their car on the golf cart before the round and after the round load their clubs back into their car.

5. The outside service staff has been instructed not touch anyone’s golf bags, clean any clubs, or touch personal items in golf carts, please make sure you remove all your personal items from golf carts and dispose of any trash you have accumulated in the golf cart after the round.

6. We will be outside doing check in. If you would like a beverage, snacks, grab & go lunches, cocktails or beer you can let one of us know and we can radio your order to Justin and we will bring it to your cart. All guest fee & cart charges will be on the members' accounts. The clubhouse will be open for use of the restrooms only.

7. The Club has 54 golf carts in the fleet, The Club recommends practicing social distancing riding alone in the golf cart and we will do our best to accommodate. With the limited number of golf carts, we will not be able to leave golf carts out on the 9th hole for walkers.

8. Practice before the round: Balls will be stacked on the driving range, balls will be available on chipping greens (no shag bags will be available on chipping greens). Please do not touch the pin flags on the putting green, GC maintenance crew has installed PVC pipe in all the holes so the ball will bounce out and no one will be exposed by reaching in the hole.

9. Hole 1 and all par 3 holes (3,6,9,11,16) carts are restricted to cart path only, the rest of the golf course carts can be driven in the fairway and rough, Carts are not allowed in the native areas.

10. Please play preferred lies in the bunkers and please don’t rake the bunker, leave it as is when you exit it. Please leave the flagsticks in the cups when you are putting. The holes on the course will have a PVC pipe that will prohibit you ball from going in the hole. Once your ball hits the PVC it will be considered holed. All the sand bottles have been removed from the golf carts and we ask you replace your divots.

11. Because we have the holes filled with PVC pipe on the golf course the Club will not be recognizing any hole in ones that could be made or claimed by a member for the HOLE IN ONE CLUB.

12. Score posting, If you wish to post your score please email me your front nine score and back nine score after your round and the golf staff will input at a later date.

We will update the home page on Foretees daily of an changes or updates for golf. We want our membership to have the ability to get out, away from the noise and enjoy the club and the limited services that are available. We are very appreciative of all the support we have received from the Membership. More communication will follow should conditions change.

Sincerely,

George Kahrhoff
