Dear Ravenna Members and Families,

Our priority is to make The Club as relaxing and enjoyable as possible so Members and guests can enjoy “The Ravenna Experience.” We encourage our Membership to embrace Ravenna by playing golf, supporting the golf shop, making the Club your first choice when it comes to dining and entertaining your non-member friends for dinner, golf or both. The best way to find new members is through each of you who serve as our ambassadors. Working together, Membership and club management can build a great Club at Ravenna.

The 2018 Golf Program can be found on the private member side of The Club’s website, www.ravennagolf.com. The program is a great information resource, and contains The Club’s rules and regulations, tournament schedules, formats, sign-up policies, and schedules for demo days, junior golf, and instructional clinics. If you would like a hard copy of the 2018 Golf Program, we will have hard copies available in the Golf Shop.

Rules & Regulations: Please familiarize yourself with The Club’s Golf Rules and Regulations. For Ravenna to elevate our member experience, there will be an emphasis this year on Club Governance. The Club will be sending out written correspondence to Members with friendly reminders about the Club rules and regulations. The issues we encounter most often are guest’s dress code, pace of play, children’s code of conduct, and getting off the tee box by your tee time. When booking a tee time on Foretees, Members can input the guest email addresses so both the Member and guest will receive the tee time confirmation. If you don’t enter the guest email address, please forward the tee time confirmation to your invited guests and stress to review the guest’s guidelines link in the confirmation email. When the guests are greeted at the Ravenna security gate they are given a guest card with directions to the Club and the guest policies. Lastly, one item that has come to the Club attention is alcoholic beverages. All alcoholic beverages must be purchased at the Club at Ravenna. Members failure to adhere puts at risk the Club, the Club’s liquor license, and Members membership privileges.

Ravenna is Prospering: Our club is fortunate in many ways. We have an exceptional golf experience, a pristine location and dedicated staff. During the last three years, membership has expanded from 47 to 240 members, and the number of rounds has jumped from 6,000 to 14,400. Based on the current residential construction activity in the community, the buzz with the pending opening of the pool & fitness amenities this summer, and future clubhouse construction on the horizon, the Club is anticipating an influx of new members and projecting more than 16,000+ rounds this year. To anticipate the increase in play, the first tee time on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & Monday Holidays) from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day will be at 7:00 am. The first tee time on weekday (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays) will be 7:30 am. The Club's vision is to balance the membership programs now and in the future. The Club’s mission is to ensure playing times for Members, their families and their invited guests, balanced with a number of Club-sanctioned events spread evenly throughout the golf season.

What is in store for 2018?

Group Outings: (Page 6) The Club is available for small group outings for your business clients, family reunion, or an outing for personal friends. Small groups may play any time on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and on weekend’s small groups of 16 players or less can book tee times after 11:00 am on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Monday holidays. The individual member who hosts the small group agrees to accompany the guests on the day of play. Contact me ([email protected]) to schedule a small group for golf and Michelle Totte ([email protected]) to assist with your group’s catering needs.

If The Club is going to be successful the golf professional staff and the membership need to embrace the opportunity to educate, mentor, and pass along their knowledge they have gained to welcome each other and grow the game of golf. Don’t be surprised this year if one of my assistants or myself come out and introduce you to another member and pair you on the first tee box. We are here to serve you; we want to make golfing at Ravenna a special experience for all! We look forward taking care of you when you visit The Club.

Sincerely,

George Kahrhoff
Director of Golf & Club Operations
